Together, we developed an accessible method to upcycle waste polystyrene from our teaching labs into catalysts for organic synthesis, with successful application in Friedel–Crafts reactions.

A particularly exciting aspect of this project is the Open Science platform and educational videos, created through a genuine co‑creation model where academic staff, MSc students, and undergraduate students work as equal partners.
